A voice for startups

Government Programs for Startups

Institutions have a key role to play in the development of technology. In the United States, institutions were the corner stone on which the Silicon Valley was built.

In India, the Technology Business Incubator program was created by the Government of India under the Department of Science and Technology. The idea was to use the knowledge base of the institutions to enable the development of startups in India.

Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the institutions that hosts a TBI within its campus and we have been closely working with them for the past 3 years.

We invited Mr. Balachandran from the VIT-TBI to go into the details of the role that institutions that can play and also provides an insight on a number of programs that the government has for technology startups through which support as well as funding can be secured.

The video is very useful in terms of understanding the various programs that the government has put together. These can be used by any of the startups that are working in the technology sphere to find seed funding and other nature of support for their startups including tax breaks and policy related support.

Many of the startups are not even aware of the various schemes that the government has to support startups and to provide them funding for their businesses.
